Selection Guides & FAQs

Use these practical questions to prepare an actuator enquiry. Configuration-specific technical documents are available through Fergus technical support.

What information helps with initial selection? +

Provide the equipment function, required force, stroke, supply voltage, working speed and operating frequency where known. Include the quantity and any feedback or control requirements. You can start an enquiry without knowing every parameter.

Which speed should I compare? +

Distinguish no-load speed from speed at the working load. Read performance data together with the configuration code and supply voltage; the highest force and highest speed may come from different configurations.

What should I provide for the installation review? +

A sketch or drawing of the mechanism, attachment points, hinge positions and required motion helps Fergus assess the installation geometry. Request a drawing for the selected stroke and configuration before finalising the equipment design.

How do I request a datasheet or drawing? +

Send the model and known technical requirements to Fergus. Request the current datasheet, configuration-specific drawing and relevant feedback wiring information.

What if I need a custom configuration? +

Describe the required stroke, attachments, cable length, feedback and control arrangement. Fergus can evaluate the request against the application and available product configurations.
